A business leaders’ conference for directors and senior managers in the East of England. This was on behalf of a raft of different agencies and included an accompanying exhibition. The conference included guest speakers, presentations on leadership and break-out workshops.

Project management

For several years we facilitated the activities of the Cambridgeshire Management Forum, a group whose aim was to enhance the standards of management and leadership across Cambridgeshire. This work included ongoing content management for a website.

Written materials

Skills for business: People management is published online on behalf of the Periodical Publishers’ Association (PPA) and aims to help small to medium-sized publishers by providing all the essential 'people' information that helps make business tick. The guide is divided into three sections covering recruitment and selection, employment and people development. It can be found at www.ppa.co.uk

Newsletters

Communication lies at the heart of effective people management and both formal newsletters and more informal ‘blogs’ can be utilised to keep people in touch. These can be developed in both paper and online formats.

Strategy to action

Creating strategies and turning strategies into actions can be a particular challenge for multi-agency partnership working. In one instance we used a range of facilitation skills to gather input from the key decision-makers in different agencies. These were conducted in both individual and group formats and the outcomes from these were drove the content both for the strategy and subsequent implementation plan.
