Your Total Coach

The programme includes 24 hours of 1:1 coaching, together with residential-based leadership modules, shadowing experiences and the provision of 360 degree feedback. Keith's role has been to work as a coach or 'critical friend' with seven principals on the programme, and two of these have just graduated with flying colours.

The programme concludes with a two-hour viva. This gives the principals the opportunity to describe their leadership journey. Developing their leadership qualities should then transmit through to higher performing organisations. It's not uncommon for principals to be running businesses with an annual turnover of £30m or £40m. Their 'products' are adults or young people who are then taking their place in the world of work. The better they are, the better the news for the economy.

One of the drivers behind the PQP was the Leitch review, which highlighted the shortfalls in skills among our working population. Keith Nelson: "The PQP is a very powerful learning journey, although I still struggle with being called a 'critical friend' on this programme, rather than a coach, which I am more comfortable with!"
