Level 3 Award in Workplace Coaching for Team Leaders & First Line Managers
Programme objective
This programme aims to develop team leaders and first line managers to provide workplace coaching to members of their teams or others whom they manage. Because of their expertise, team leaders and first line managers are increasingly expected to help others develop similar levels of competence, and this can include coaching individuals. This qualification is designed to develop the knowledge and skills required to do this.
Outcomes
The programme aims to provide delegates with the skills to:
• Understand coaching and its role in improving team members’ performance
• Perform effectively as workplace coaches
Programme Outline
The programme consists of 1 x 2-day workshop and a 1.5 day workshop to conclude.
Course content includes:
• Good practice in coaching
• Learning styles and barriers to effective coaching
• Evaluate and plan the use of resources
• Communication skills in coaching
• Agree learning goals for coaching and record & assess learning
• Plan a coaching programme
Assessment is via a 750-1,000 word work-based assessment & reflective coaching or mentoring diary. Delegates, who also receive an individual tutorial, are required to complete 6 hours’ practical coaching activity.
