The Manager as Coach
Accredited by the Institute of Leadership & Management
Leading to a Level 5 Certificate in Coaching & Mentoring in Management
Programme objective
The programme will give managers the capability to coach others in their organisation and the confidence to act as a mentor to develop people’s performance.
Increasingly employers are looking to experienced managers to support the development of less experienced staff through coaching and mentoring. This role frequently extends beyond skills development into a wider programme of support to enable those being coached or mentored to identify wider development needs, clarify career expectations and assist in their personal growth.
Coaching and mentoring may be used as distinct strategies or inter-linked in the developmental process.
This award encourages the development of a wide range of knowledge and skills to enable candidates to employ both strategies.
