Coach Training

We are a leading Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Accredited Centre and we provide a wide range of Coach Training programmes to enable individuals to perform as coaches in the workplace. Programmes range from introductory courses for first line managers, through to advanced programmes for those involved in - or considering - leadership and executive coaching.

Why is the time right now for coaching?

Given the fast pace of change, employees must be encouraged and supported to continually update their skills and gain knowledge. Encouraging employees to learn and develop help an organisation remain flexible in the face of uncertain future conditions. By its very nature learning is an individual process. The shift towards a learner-centred approach has contributed to the growing attractiveness of coaching. This is because it offers one-to-one personalised support for development that can be aligned with the organisations strategy and goals.

What does coaching offer that other learning and development activities don’t?

  • It provides people with feedback on both their strengths and development areas.
  • It supports changes in attitudes and behaviour that can translate into more effective performance at work.
  • It helps people identify barriers that are preventing them from being more effective.
  • It helps promote individual self-awareness and self-management.
  • It helps people commit to new performance goals and action plans.

What will you learn on your coach training programme?

The ILM coach training programmes equip you with the knowledge and practical skills to perform effectively as coaches. The coach training programmes also provide:

  • Workbooks and journals to access and record your learning.
  • Coach demonstration sessions.
  • Coach practice sessions working with real coaching issues, developing your coaching skills.
  • Personal development through reflection and discussion.
  • Learn the theory of coaching, models and techniques to perform effectively as a coach.
